Children's Book Week

We hope that you are all enjoying Children's Book Week. If you haven't already visited us this week why not pop in to your local library and see our special displays and enter our lucky draw prize. All you have to do is borrow any junior or young adult book with your library card. Entries for this competition close tomorrow night!

The Children's Book Week books are very popular at the moment and you may not find them on the shelves. Please ask our friendly staff for help, we are more than happy to put a reserve on any book you want.

Baby Read 'n' Rhyme

We are celebrating Children's Book Week with a variety of events and activities throughout the week. Why not come down and see what is happening.

For the babies we have a special Baby Read 'n' Rhyme session at HJ Daley Library on Monday 24 August at 10.30am. Why not come and join us and celebrate the joy of reading to your baby.

Happy Children's Book Week everyone!

We are celebrating Children's Book Week with a variety of activities throughout the week.

Why not pop in to your local library this week and see what is going on.

For the babies we have a special Baby Read 'n' Rhyme session at HJ Daley Library on Monday 24 August from 10.30am to 11am.

We also have special storytimes in our regular time slots and displays in all branches of the library as well as our lucky draw prize.

For any child or young adult who borrows with their library card at any branch of the library from Friday 21 August to Friday 28 August can enter your lucky draw prize. There will be two winners from every branch. Entries open today and close 28 August. All winners will be notified on Friday 4 September.

PJ Storytime

Our next PJ Storytime session will be held at Glenquarie Library on Thursday 20 August at 6pm! Why don't you wear your PJ's, bring your family and a teddy, and enjoy a special storytime in the library at night.

The Reading Hour

It's only one more sleep until The Reading Hour! We will be participating with a special Family PJ Storytime.

Come and join us at HJ Daley Library at 6pm tomorrow (18 August) for a fun-filled hour of stories, fun and games celebrating the joy of reading. Don't forget to wear your PJs.

Following this special storytime event, why not browse the library and borrow some books to continue the reading experience at home together as a family.

Children's Book Week is coming

 

Children's Book Week will be celebrated this year from 22 to 28 August. The theme is Books light up our world.

During the week, the library will have displays of the shortlisted titles and a few special activities. Please watch this space for more information about happenings during Children's Book Week.

Why not check out the Children's Book Council website for details of this year's shortlisted books.

The winners of the Children's Book of the Year will be announced on Friday 21 August. Your favourite book might be the winner!
